Who we are

GBI is a Non-Governmental and Not-for-Profit Organisation that advocates for Carbon Reduction by corporate organizations in Nigeria. CBI engages business owners and their managements through Staff Workshops, Briefs, Talks at Board Meetings, and Annual General Meetings, to alter the carbon footprints of these companies. The organization renders free service as a matchmaker between emitters and clean energy experts. It also exercises fiduciary duty by engaging with decision-makers in both public and private sectors to bring about practical decarbonization and offset policies.​

Use the Climate Act to assist sustainability focused Nigerian corporations with situation based techniques and technology that will reduce and offset their carbon footprints.

JENNIFER IFEANYI-OKORO

Jennifer Ifeanyi-Okoro is a lawyer and energy industry professional with nearly two decades of experience in the power sectors of emerging markets in Sub Saharan Africa. She has provided legal, regulatory, policy, technical, and transactional advice and support to international donor agencies, energy regulators, policy makers, power project developers, and electric utilities.

In 2021 she headed and pioneered a Technical Assistance Unit at the International Renewable Energy Agency in Abu Dhabi, UAE before joining Sun King, an international solar home systems company.

He is a lawyer with more than 15 years cognate experience in legal practice with bias for Energy law. He worked in a Mining and Energy Company for many years and rose to the position of the head of Legal services.

Mr. Chijioke Patrick Ideli still practices law and is a senior partner in Forte Solicitors Abuja, Nigeria.

HALIMA INUWA

Halima Inuwa is a book author and founder of Climate Action Team, a Civil Society Organisation that engages kids on sustainable environmental practices. She is a passionate nature enthusiast.

In 2021, Halima served as a mentor at the International Climate Action Challenge. She organises seminars on climate change and collaborates with recycling companies to turn waste plastic to new objects of value.

Since Nigeria signed its Climate Change Act in 2021, Halima has emerged as a leading female voice engaging policy makers in Abuja on the need to come up with pragmatic measures to reduce the country’s carbon footprint.
